What’s this all about?

Teaching at The Happy Startup Summercamp
  • Does Peter Koenig’s source and money work resonate strongly with you?
  • Do you have an instinct that building mastery in this work could be your next step to increase your positive impact in the world?
  • Would you like to build your coaching, facilitation, or advisory practice to better serve the most purposeful clients and support them to realise their dreams?
  • Are you ready to go on an inner journey of self-discovery and perhaps even transformation, emerging as a more powerful source?
  • Would you like to learn and collaborate with an intimate group of no more than 12 people, guided by me (live, not in recordings), over nine months, and form life-long bonds?
  • Are you ready to invest in yourself and see the returns come back to you not only in money but in joy and deep satisfaction in your work and life?

Yes? Then this might be for you.

What will happen?

We’ll start in the green Sussex countryside

The beginning

The programme will begin with an in-person weekend in the beautiful green surroundings of Emerson College in the Sussex countryside, 30 minutes from London Gatwick Airport. This will be hosted by me, and the brilliant Fanny Norlin.

For two full days, we will build bonds with one another, and since everyone will have already had an introduction to the work, we will immediately go deep into it together. You’ll explore your shadows and what might hold you back from being a powerful source, and start exploring how you can bring this out in the clients you work with too.

Even though we’ll only be at the very start, you’ll leave this weekend already clearer about your next steps in bringing this work into your own initiatives and to your clients, and glean many insights that I will share with you from my decade of practicing the work.

The middle

We’ll then drop into a regular rhythm, meeting on Zoom every four weeks, for nine months. The content of these facilitated sessions will be emergent based on what’s coming up for you and the other participants. You can bring the challenges you’re facing with clients that you work with, learn from each other’s successes, get help in getting clear about what you need to do next, request briefings and Q&As from me about specific topics that you want to go deeper on, and enjoy mutual support with the other participants as you take your practice to the next level.

I will also bring in special guests to several of the sessions, including Peter Koenig, so you’ll have a wider range of perspectives and a connection to where this work began.

Alongside this regular rhythm, you’ll also be encouraged to be an active specific source within the programme, not just a ‘participant’. You can take the initiative, self-organise, and get what you need from me and the group. You might propose additional sessions or offer your own unique gift to the group. Participants can also self-organise into support duos or triads and have extra calls together. Perhaps you’ll step into each other’s initiatives and begin partnerships.

The end

Finally, we’ll meet again in-person for a day in June 2024 to close our journey together, take stock of what we’ve all learned and how far we’ve come, celebrate, and create fertile soil for new collaborations to emerge.

Who is leading this?

Teaching source and money work. Japan, 2022

I’m Tom Nixon, the author of Work with Source, and I will be leading this programme personally. It’s all a live experience, not pre-recorded videos.

I’ve been working with Peter Koenig’s source and money work since 2013, at first to help me find my own way as a founder, and since then I have brought the work to other founders and groups around the world. I completed my own ‘done’ process (more on that in a moment) with Peter in 2015 and I share the work with his blessing.

As the source of this programme, I can share with you that my vision is to build a community of expert practitioners in source work as a way to scale up our response to the huge challenges and predicaments of our time from climate change to AI risk, whilst we make use of the abundant opportunities we have for a better future.

Working with me to hold the space will be my long-term collaborator, Fanny Norlin. A C-level leader, consultant, and facilitator from Sweden, Fanny brings her expertise in decentralised leadership and how a generative interplay between the masculine and feminine polarities can create more vibrant and soulful initiatives. Fanny’s ultimate purpose in all of her work is to see more people coming fully alive, and I agree with her that that’s what the world needs right now.

Do I get a certification?

This programme is not about receiving a certification from an institution. Why? Because a certification can sometimes become the goal in itself rather than a pure focus on mastery of the work. And they can put too much faith in institutions rather than in the human responsibility of sources.

Instead, this programme has been designed to give you the chance to develop a level of mastery of working with source in your own initiatives and with your clients, to join the growing lineage of practitioners of this work that Peter Koenig established.

There’s no written exam to sit or project to submit for “assessment”. Instead, I’m using what Peter Koenig has called, very simply, “The Done Process”. When you and I both feel in our souls that you’re ready to transition from trainee to fully-fledged practitioner, we will celebrate that rite of passage together — you will be “done”. You’ll know you’re ready not just through external validation, but seeing the progress you have made as a source yourself, and with the progress your clients are making. When this moment comes, you and I will have a bond for life and I will remain responsible for your connection to the lineage of Peter Koenig’s work.

In the future, when you sense you’re ready, you will also be able to train and bring further practitioners up to this level, perhaps one day running your own programmes inspired by this one and building your own branch of the lineage.

My hope is that all participants will be “done” by the end of the programme, but even if you’re not, it isn’t a failure. It just means you’re not ready yet and there is always a next step. The final in-person day in June 2024 is for all participants, regardless of where each has gotten to.

Is this right for me?

This programme is certainly not right for most people. I have set six entry requirements to ensure that only the people it will benefit the most can join, and to give all participants an exceptional group of fellow travelers to be with on the journey, and perhaps become friends and collaborators with, for life.

If you’re unsure whether it might be for you, let’s have a Zoom call (details at the bottom of the page) to talk it through and let the right decision come naturally. Let’s not let Imposter Syndrome stop you!

If this programme is genuinely now for you then I’ll help you find a more suitable next step.

To join this programme you need to answer YES to these questions:

  1. Do you have an established practice working with clients as a coach, advisor, or facilitator? (This is not a course to help you change your career into coaching.)
  2. Do you have an understanding of, and resonance with, Peter Koenig’s source work? For example, by reading my book Work with Source, attending at least a full-day source seminar, or bingeing heavily on videos and articles about source on the web.
  3. Have you had a live experience of Koenig’s projection-reclamation process? For example, completing the CU*Money course, working with me or another qualified practitioner one-to-one, or participating in a money seminar using Peter Koenig’s process. If you can’t tick this box yet, you can still apply and we will arrange for you to have this experience before we start in October.
  4. Do you have a desire to not only serve clients with this work, but to also be a source of your own initiative and develop an idea that’s already in progress, or start something new?
  5. Do you have the readiness and willingness to invest yourself in the inner work required to fully work with source? This might mean exploring difficult or painful parts of yourself. It’s not a group therapy space, but we will go deep and you need to be ready to go there.
  6. Are you willing to make a sacred commitment to the process and your group, to stick with it even when it’s tough?

How does the money work?

The single most important thing to me is building the right group of people. So if you feel drawn to this learning journey, I’ll do all I can to make the money work for you, including any creative idea we can come up with, payment plans, and perhaps even more importantly, helping you to attract the money you need into your field so that you can invest in yourself.

This programme is truly an investment in yourself and your practice, it’s not a “cost”. You should aim to more than return all of your investment by allowing money to flow back to you through your work.

I would love to receive an investment of £4000 / €4670 per participant (VAT will be applicable to UK participants). Check how that feels both in your body, and in the practicalities of your finances. Does it work for you? Remember, it should not be a taboo to talk about money!

What’s included and not included?

The investment includes venue, food, and refreshment expenses for the in-person meetings. Accommodation is included for the kick-off weekend at Emerson College. Travel is not included, nor any accommodation costs for the closing in-person day. The investment includes Grade A carbon offsetting for any air travel.

If you need any support to meet the entry requirements before the programme starts, such as experiencing the projection-reclamation work, this may require an additional investment. I’ll help you get this figured out.

What are the dates, times, and locations?

In-person starting weekend

Arrive at Emerson College on Friday 13 October 2023 for two full days together on 14 and 15 October.

By air to London Gatwick. Emerson is a 30-minute taxi or Uber ride away.

By rail, East Grinstead station is the closest, or alternatively, Haywards Heath is a little further away. You can take a taxi to and from either.

By car, just follow your Satnav to Emerson, then the signs to the main car park and walk to reception.

Let me know if you’re arriving after 7:30 PM so we can arrange a late check-in.

You can leave from 5:30 PM on Sunday 15 October, or stay an extra night and leave on Monday 16th.

Zoom sessions

Every four weeks on Wednesdays from October 2023 to June 2024.

25 Oct, 22 Nov, 20 Dec, 17 Jan, 14 Feb, 13 Mar, 10 Apr, 8 May, 5 Jun.

9:00 AM — 11:00 AM London / 10:00 AM — 12:00 PM Paris.

After each session, I will keep the Zoom room open for an extra 30 minutes, cafe style, so those who want to stay can talk further in a group or in break-outs, or ask me any extra questions.

All Zoom sessions will be recorded for those who can’t make it.

In-person closing day

June 2024. The date will be confirmed once we have a final participant list and we will choose a day and location that works for as many of the group as possible.

I’m interested — what are the next steps?

You can join the final wave of applications by booking a call with me by 21 September. I will answer all of your questions about the programme, we will have a friendly dialogue to work out whether this is right for you, and discuss the investment.

If you can’t find a time on my calendar that works for you, send me an SMS/WhatsApp message (+447970270544) with your timezone and availability including for evening calls and I’ll fit you in.

The deadline for final confirmation of places is 21 September 2023.

Once you and I are both clear this programme is right for you, you can make a firm commitment and pay a deposit to secure your place, and then, just look forward to October.
